Call for Participation: P3129™

IEEE Standards Association (IEEE SA) invites you to participate in the working group for IEEE P3129™, Standard for Robustness Testing and Evaluation of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based Image Recognition Service..

Why Get Involved?

This standard provides test specifications with a set of indicators for interference and adversarial attacks, which can be used to evaluate the robustness of Artificial Intelligence-based Image Recognition services. It also specifies robustness requirements and establishes an assessment framework to evaluate the robustness of Artificial Intelligence-based Image Recognition services under various settings.

The purpose of this standard is to guide individuals and organizations who provide, develop, or use Artificial Intelligence-based Image Recognition to test and evaluate the service and improve the robustness of the service. It is also applicable to guide third-party evaluation laboratories to test and evaluate the robustness of the service by applying standards-based testing to provide feedback on individual algorithmic implementations.

Call for Participation: IEEE P3123™

IEEE Standards Association (IEEE SA) invites you to participate in the working group for IEEE P3123™, Standard for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) Terminology and Data Formats.

Why Get Involved?

The standard defines specific terminology utilized in artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML). It provides clear definition for relevant terms in AI/ML. Furthermore, it defines requirements for data formats.

The purpose of this standard includes a) improving communication between research groups via an established lexicography and data format, b) improving the usefulness of datasets by defining common formats, and c) facilitating improved communication among academics and practitioners.

Call for Participation: IEEE P2304™

IEEE Standards Association (IEEE SA) invites you to participate in the working group for  IEEE P2304™, Standard for Cloud Computing Shared Function Model.

Why Get Involved?

This standard provides a general shared function model for cloud computing, in order to normalize how functions are shared between cloud service providers (CSPs) and cloud service customers (CSCs). The standard specifies functions ownership from seven aspects for three main cloud service delivery models, including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS).

The seven aspects of function are as follows: 1) The physical infrastructure function. 2) The virtualization infrastructure function. 3) The operating system function. 4) The network control function. 5) The application function. 6) The data function. 7) The identity and access management function. Each of the seven aspects considers many factors including security, management, etc. In this standard, levels 1 to 4, which are clearly the service provider’s function for IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS, are briefly mentioned for the integrity of the model. This standard focuses on levels 5, 6, and 7.

IEEE Standards Association (IEEE SA) invites you to participate in the working group for  IEEE P2975™, Standard for Industrial Artificial Intelligence (AI) Data Attributes.

Why Get Involved?

This standard defines attributes related to industrial Artificial Intelligence (AI) data that facilitates the classification, association, and mapping towards value creation using data. The attributes include but are not limited to the data source, type, ownership, sampling frequency, traceability, privacy attributes for modeling, sampling, shareability, and its use in AI algorithms.

This standard facilitates industrial AI data rationalization towards value creation to establish a common understanding of the AI-relevant data among all stakeholders to accelerate AI solutions and product development and deployment. It will also provide a generic data framework to address common data elements shared across various industrial AI verticals.

Call for Participation: IEEE P7015™

IEEE Standards Association (IEEE SA) invites you to participate in the working group for  IEEE P7015™, Standard for Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Literacy, Skills, and Readiness.

Why Get Involved?

To coordinate global data and AI literacy-building efforts, this standard establishes an operational framework and associated capabilities for designing policy interventions, tracking their progress, and empirically evaluating their outcomes. The standard includes a common set of definitions, language, and understanding of data and AI literacy, skills, and readiness.

The purpose of the standard is to enable that the respective set of skills and competencies are widely taught as a transdisciplinary competence across all subjects from three perspectives (application-oriented, technical-methodological, and socio-cultural) and can be acquired by all people so that every individual, and our society as a whole, will be enabled to deal with data and AI in a conscious and ethically sound manner. The standard creates a common understanding of data and AI literacy so that it can be systematically included in curricula and educational standards of schools, teacher training, higher education, and further education. Furthermore, the standard serves as a reference for data and AI literacy programs for extracurricular and vocational training, to enable lifelong learning of data and AI literacy. Given that, such a standard can serve as a basis for eventually developing a convergent, coherent data literacy assessment, measurement, and impact evaluation framework for the national, regional, and global levels that can help to fill the empirical evidence gap on outcomes from data literacy interventions and programs.

2021 IEEE SERVICES Call For Papers

The 2021 IEEE World Congress on Services will be held as an all-online virtual event. The Congress is solely sponsored by the IEEE Computer Society under the auspice of the Technical Committee on Services Computing (TCSVC). The scope of the Congress will cover all aspects of services computing and applications, current or emerging. Centered around services computing, it covers various systems and networking research pertaining to cloud, edge and Internet-of-Things (IoT), as well as technologies for intelligent computing, learning, Big Data and blockchain applications, addressing critical issues such as knowledge network, high performance, security, privacy, dependability, trustworthiness, and cost-effectiveness. Particularly, 2021 Congress will welcome papers on the impact of COVID-19 on services and corresponding infrastructure. In addition to co-located theme-topic conferences, the Congress will also include symposia and workshops supporting deep-dive discussions on emerging important topics, and complement the Congress program with industry and application presentations and panels. Authors are invited to prepare early and submit original papers to any of these conferences at www.easychair.org. All submitted manuscripts will be peer-reviewed by at least three reviewers. Accepted and presented papers will appear in the conference proceedings published by the IEEE Computer Society Press.

IEEE Computer Society Annual Symposium on VLSI July 7-9, 2021 Call for Papers

The 2021 Symposium explores emerging trends and novel ideas and concepts covering a broad range of topics in the area of VLSI: from VLSI circuits, systems and design methods, to system level design issues, to bringing VLSI design to new areas and technologies such as nano- and molecular devices, security, artificial intelligence, and Internet-of-Things, etc. Future design methodologies and new EDA tools are also a key topic at the Symposium. Over three decades the Symposium has been a unique forum promoting multidisciplinary research and new visionary approaches in the area of VLSI, bringing together leading scientists and researchers from academia and industry. The ISVLSI proceedings will be indexed in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library. Selected high quality papers will be further invited for submission to a journal special issue. The Symposium has established a reputation in bringing together well-known international scientists as invited speakers. The emphasis on high quality will continue at this and future editions of the Symposium.
